Free Trial Class and What to Expect

Updated: Jul 31, 2022

Are you ready to sign your child up for a FREE trial class! That is great. I hope this post will help give you the information needed to feel confident and ready to move forward with your first class! Let's dive in!

To begin, your first lesson is considered a trial lesson, and it is absolutely free!

This lesson is extremely important, as it is with this lesson that teacher and student become familiar with one another and the student is introduced to the online learning environment. During the trial class, they will also review the students’ main goals and learning difficulties. Last, it is during this time that the teacher may determine the level of the student.

How long is a free trial class?

The free trial lesson lasts 25-30 minutes.

What happens prior to and during a free trial class?

A Free Trial Class consists of the following parts:

  • Teacher’s questions about the level of the student;

  • Introductions and short dialogue;

  • Student’s questions about the education and experience of the teacher;

  • A prepared lesson to assess the student’s basic language skills, including grammar, reading, speaking, listening, and writing (not for beginners);

  • Trial Class Assessment sent to parents via email or Wechat

Do I have to book a class to receive a FREE trial lesson?

No. You do not. If you want to enroll in a free trial lesson to see if Learning with Teacher Amy is the right fit for your child, I support that. I want you to feel confident and comfortable in your decisions and partnership in your child's ESL education.

A free lesson is guaranteed to every student, independent of the number of lessons they would like to receive (0, 1, or 10 lessons). Even if you sign up for one lesson, you’ll get two: one free and one paid.
